I’m all about less is more, especially when it comes to makeup – that’s why I LOVE the “no-makeup” makeup look! In my opinion, makeup should enhance your features not cover them up. Unless I’m going to a fancy event, I stick to this barely-there makeup routine. It’s super fresh and light. And the best part about this look is that it can work for your everyday look without feeling like you are walking around with a bare face.
These natural makeup tricks are quick-to-do and time friendly. Hopefully this easy routine will save you precious moments in your morning so you can finally enjoy that warm cup of coffee before bolting out the door!
As you will see, achieving this “no-makeup” makeup look is actually quite simple.
-
Apply a tinted moisturizer or BB cream.
After you have washed and moisturized your face, apply a BB cream or even use a tinted moisturizer in place of your regular moisturizer (this will make your face feel even lighter). I love Garnier’s Skinactive 5-in-1 Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream. It’s great because it’s not going to burn a hole in your pocket and it has SPF too. If you want to splurge a bit, Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 works great too! The key is to let those imperfections and freckles shine through because that’s what makes you, you!
-
Conceal those dark circles.
Dab a small amount of concealer with your fingers to hide any dark circles. This will make you look wide eyed and awake. Lately, I have been using Garnier’s Skinactive Clearly Brighter Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller. This stuff is great because it’s pretty sheer and creamy. I love that it gently masks my dark circles without making it look super caking and dry under my eyes. Tip: Keep this stuff in the refrigerator for a cooling application.
-
Set eyebrows.
Groom your brows with a brow gel. This will help them stay in place and fill them if they are a little scarce. Double whammy! Having nice groomed brows will also help you look more polished. I love using Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel. This stuff is great because it doesn’t flake or fade and you can also build it up to create more of a thicker brow.
-
Add a non-glittery highlighter to your cheeks.
-
Curl lashes and apply mascara.
Just a couple of coats of mascara can really make your eyes pop! I use Dior’s Diorshow Mascara practically every single day . The formula is creamy and conditioning and really makes lashes appear longer than they are but in a very natural way. I always make sure to curl my lashes before applying mascara for an extra lift. This mascara is a little pricey so if you’re looking for something similar but with a smaller price tag, I recommend trying L’Oreal Voluminous. You can get the same fluffy volumizing eye look with this stuff!
-
Apply a lipstick true to your lip color.
I really like using a “my lips but better” lip color for this look because you just want to enhance your natural lip color not conceal it with a bold lip. Revlon color stay lip liners have a great selection of true to lip colors. They have great colors for every skin tone out there, it’s also long lasting! I like Makeup Forever’s lip collection as well, I use their Natural N4 pink Beige. If you’re looking for something more matte I would recommend trying Glossier’s Generation G in the shade Cake.

Extra Tip – finish your cheeks with a natural flush.
This may sound a little old fashioned, but I like using my lip color for blush. I think it gives you more of a dewy look and you get more out of your lipstick. In the photo above I used my Makeup Forever lipstick as a blush. If this doesn’t sound like your kinda thing, another great option is the Multistick from Bite Beauty in the color Almond. It’s a very natural pink hue. It goes on like a cream but finishes to a soft light weight powder. This stuff is great because you can use it on your lips, cheeks, and eyes.
